Doplhin Blue - Your Marine Adventure

Paul and Alison Aitken, owners of Dolphin Blue, have many years of experience on the waters around the Bay of Plenty

Dolphin Day Trips

Paul alone has clocked up over 40 years’ experience as a fisherman, 30 of them skippering both private fishing charters and commercial vessels. Alison is on deck to assist passengers who choose to swim with dolphins, and provide Morning tea & refreshments thoughout the day.

Daughters Kimberley and Chantelle also lend a hand; Kimberley works as a part-time guide in between her Auckland-based role as an ambulance officer, while Chantelle is on-call to handle bookings and enquires.

With tall tales and local knowledge, the Aitkens will make sure your dolphin watching experience in Tauranga is interesting, informative and memorable.

Our commitment to the environment

We minimise our impact on the marine environment adhering strictly to a “nothing overboard” philosophy and we support WWF New Zealand’s work towards protecting the endangered Hector’s Dolphin native to New Zealand.

Even though Hector’s dolphins are not found in the Bay of Plenty, Dolphin Blue supports the WWF's ‘Adopt a Hector’s’ programme, helping to raise much-needed funds and to create awareness of the plight of this magnificent animal.
